Seven Years In Tibet

Nothing will get you more excited to travel than this movie.

This movie will give you the inspiration and motivation to book a flight to a destination you have always loved to visit. From a technical perspective, this is the most thoughtful travel movie ever made.

This movie is based on a true story of an Australian mountain climber (Brad Pitt as Heinrich Harrer) who was incarcerated in a World War II POW camp by the British in colonial India during his attempt to climb the Himalayan.

Eventually, Harrer escapes from the camp and flees to Tibet where he meets Young Dalai. The two liked each other instantly, and Harrer becomes his teacher, confidant, and cultural mentor for seven years. After the war ends, Harrer returned to Europe and wrote about his adventures in a foreign country.

Encounters At The End Of The World

This is a must-watch for adventure lovers. For most of us, we can give everything to get a glimpse of the world’s beauty and find out about all the characters that live on different continents.

This movie is centered on one character Werner Herzog who travels to the McMurdo Station in Antarctica while trying to capture the beauty of the continent and find out all the species of plants and animals that live in Antarctica. If you have never thought of visiting this part of the world, this movie will inspire you to do so.

The Motorcycle Diaries

This story is based on the journals of medical student Che Guevara. The story focuses on his motorcycle trip, which lasted about five months going across South America.

The tour from Brazil to Peru does not only depict the beautiful images of the rainforest and desert but also shows the true image of poverty in Latin America. Che Guevara finds about his true-life calling through this adventure.

This inspiring movie reminds us that personal discovery changes the way we think, and we should embrace life even if it does not turn as we envisioned.

This hilarious movie captures one in a lifetime adventure.

For those who feel anxious about traveling, you will love this movie.

Ben Stiller as Walter Mitty, acts as a play it safe daydreamer who loves exploring new places. Mitty got tired of his non-vibrant existence and decided to cast all his fears away, by embarking on an adventurous trip to Greenland, Iceland, and the Himalayas.

If you have never thought of traveling to Iceland, am sure you will find it exciting after watching this movie. Most of the scenes in this movie are shot in colorful glacial lagoons and breathtaking fishing villages in Iceland.

180 Degrees South

If you love outdoor adventure, this film will want you to forget all your daily hassles and pack your bags, ready to travel around the world.

It centered on an epic adventure of friends who enjoy beautiful scenery and fun moments as they take a trip to Patagonia. Not only did they enjoy surfing and mountain climbing activities, but they also learned a lot about the fight against industrialism and the fall of the natural world.

Out of Africa

There are very many things that you can learn from this movie when traveling. In fact, I found it to be one of the best inspiring movies available.

Although this film set was is in a different time, it captures the heart of Africa beautifully. Meryl Streep falls in love and marries Robert Redford, a big game hunter.

Although their love is bound to fail, their chemistry was unmistakable. She also falls in love with the beautiful scenery in Africa. Am sure you will also love it.

The cinematography is no doubt one of the best. In fact, this movie has won seven Oscars! You guessed it right, one Oscar in best Cinematography, while the other one in the Best Picture.

Into The Wild

This movie deserves the top spot in the best travel movies.

As an enthusiastic adventurer, this film really inspired me so much that I had to watch it twice the same night (I have never done it before). If you are one of the people who love traveling that your family and friends think that you must be crazy for wanting to throw away your rewarding career in favor of adventure travel, then you will find this movie exciting.

Although it is very emotional, individuals who love traveling will find the story easy to relate especially if you sometimes feel that you just want the freedom to travel and escape from the societal pressures.
