Curtis Stone is an Australian celebrity chef, an author, entrepreneur, and a TV personality. He is known for his work in TV shows, such as ‘America’s Next Great Restaurant’ and ‘Around the World in 80 Plates’. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he began learning cooking from his grandmother at the age of four. He grew up to become a chef and worked at some of the top restaurants in Australia, and later, in London. His first cooking show was ‘Surfing the Menu’, with chef Ben O'Donoghue. The show featured the duo traveling around Australia, meeting new people and cooking. He started the cooking show ‘Take Home Chef’ in the US, which gained him popularity in the country. The show was a huge success and led to an exclusive deal with NBC. He has authored several books in his career so far. They include ‘Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood’ and ‘Surfing the Menu: Two Chefs’. He has also been named by ‘People Magazine’ as one of the Sexiest Men Alive.
Career Curtis Stone began his career at the Savoy Hotel’s 5-star restaurant. Later he began working in London at the Café Royal and the Mirabelle. Because of his incredible skills as a chef, he soon ended up becoming the head chef at White’s Quo Vadis. He returned for a brief time to Australia, and started the show ‘Surfing the Menu’. Along with fellow chef Ben O’Donoghue, he traveled the Australia coastline in the show and cooked locally grown food. He also hosted the first season of the Australian TV show ‘My Restaurant Rules’. Later, he started appearing in TV shows in the UK as well. These included ‘Good Food Live’, ‘Dinner in a Box’ and ‘Saturday Kitchen’. He gained popularity in the US after hosting the show ‘Take Home Chef’. It featured him talking to a stranger in a grocery store, typically a young woman, asking if she is cooking a meal that night. Then they would drive to the participant’s house, cook the meal and give a surprise to the participant’s guests or family members. The show achieved much success, after which he signed an exclusive deal with NBC. He also started appearing in NBC’S morning show ‘Today’. In 2011, he started appearing in the NBC TV show ‘America’s Next Great Restaurant’ as a judge. The same year, he appeared in the American reality show ‘Top Chef Masters’. He also became the co-host of the show ‘Around the World in Eighty Plates’. He has appeared in episodes of the American reality show ‘The Biggest Loser’ and ‘’Iron Chef America’ as well. His most recent work is the cooking show ‘My Kitchen Rules’ which aired from January till March 2017. He has authored many books during his career, which include ‘Surfing the Menu: Two Chefs’, ‘One Journey: A Fresh Food Adventure’, ‘Everyday and Adventurous Recipes for the Home Cook’ and ‘Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood’. In 2013, he published the cookbook ‘What’s For Dinner?” His most recent book is ‘Good Food, Good Life’ which was published in 2015. Also a philanthropist, he works with organizations such as Feeding America, a hunger-relief charity, and Second-Bite, which redistributes nutritious surplus food to the needy. Stone became the ambassador for Coles Supermarket in Australia in 2010.
Personal Life Curtis Stone was born on 4th November 1975 in Melbourne, Australia. His father Bryan Stone is an accountant. Not much is known about his childhood, except that he learned cooking from the age of four from his grandmother. He studied at Victoria University before he began his career. After dating for several years, he got married to Lindsay Price, an American actress, in 2013. They have two sons.
