Dwayne The Rock Johnson admits 'my divorce did a number on me' as he reveals why he waited a decade to wed new wife Lauren Hashian.
He's basking in joy of life as a newlywed, following his surprise August nuptials to Lauren Hashian.
But The Rock admits it took him a long time - more than ten years in fact - to even consider marrying for a second time.
'My divorce did a number on me,' explained the 47-year-old to WSJ magazine. 'I wasn't fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren was incredibly patient: "I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together - no presh.'
The Jumanji: The Next Level star met Lauren back in 2007, when she was employed as an event planner at a party for a movie he was working on.
'Within 30 seconds, I thought, "Wow, this girl's stunning",' he said. 'At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany, and she was just coming off a big breakup too. Ironically, when you're not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over.'
The Rock has two children with Lauren - daughters Jasmine, three, and Tiana Gia, one. He also has an older daughter from his first marriage to Dany Garcia, Simone, 18.
He and Dany remain close - she is the co-CEO of Johnson's many companies.
