Brooklyn Beckham's dad David Beckham has finally weighed in on his son's big news almost a full 24 hours after his wife Victoria posted a sweet message of congratulations.

David Beckham has finally congratulated his son Brooklyn on his engagement 24 hours after wife Victoria posted a sweet message to the couple.
The Mirror exclusively revealed Brooklyn Beckham, 21, is engaged to his girlfriend of seven months, Nicola Paletz, and he made it official yesterday afternoon.

He shared the pair's engagement picture, with Nicola showing off her $200,000 diamond ring and vowed to be the "best husband" to her.
Minutes later, Brooklyn's mum Victoria shared the picture on her own Instagram page along with a message for the pair - but, there was nothing from husband David.
Victoria wrote: "The MOST exciting news!! We could not be happier that @brooklynbeckham and @nicolaannepeltz are getting married
"Wishing you so much love and a lifetime of happiness. We all love you both so much."
The former footballer continued posting on his Instagram page, sharing multiple pictures of cakes.
It wasn't until this afternoon, did he post a message acknowledging his son's wedding news.

David shared the engagement pictures, and wrote: "Congratulations to these two beautiful people.
"As they begin this exciting journey together we are so so happy for you guys."
Brooklyn, who spent most of the lockdown in the US with Nicola, popped the question two weeks ago.
The couple then flew back to the UK to celebrate with his family at their home in the Cotswolds.
Announcing the happy news, Brooklyn wrote: "He wrote: "Two weeks ago I asked my soul mate to marry me and she said yes.
"I am the luckiest man in the world.

"I promise to be the best husband and daddy one day. I love you baby."
They are reportedly planning to tie the knot next year and want to set up home together in Los Angeles.
The couple is also said to be planning to celebrate their nuptials with two lavish weddings costing around £4 million.
