Liam Hemsworth speaks out about Miley Cyrus for the first time since separating. Liam Hemsworth has spoken out for the first time since news of his split from Miley Cyrus was announced Saturday.
“The Hunger Games” actor, 29, has wished the former Disney Channel star, 26, well.
“Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated,” the Aussie actor wrote on Instagram, captioning a snap of a sublime sunset. “I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.”
Hemsworth went on to refer to the split as “a private matter.”
Cyrus, 26, took to Instagram Sunday with a slightly more cryptic post.
“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” she captioned a photo of herself in the mountains.
On Saturday, the pop star’s rep told People that she and Hemsworth “have agreed to separate at this time.” The breakup was confirmed just hours after Cyrus was photographed kissing “The Hills: New Beginnings” star Kaitlynn Carter, 30 whose split from Brody Jenner, 35, was recently confirmed.
Jenner then quipped on Instagram Sunday, “Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon,” to which Cyrus suggested the reality star “go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer.”
