Hollywood hunk Zac Efron has opened up on how hard it was to get his lean and ripped physique for his part in the 2017 Baywatch remake.
Zac Efron's ripped physique was envied by many when he appeared on the big screen in the 2017 Baywatch remake.
But the Hollywood heart-throb has admitted three-years after the film's success that it was "hard" to get his shredded look and that he never wants to be in "that good of shape again."
The High School Musical star, 32, was only five percent body fat at the time of filming and had to endure daily workouts and a diet of protein and leafy greens for 12-weeks to get into the shape required for his lifeguard role of Matt Brody.
Speaking on a Hot Ones - that is available to watch on YouTube - the handsome actor explained: "I realized when I was done with that movie, that I don’t ever want to be in that good of shape again. ‘It was so hard. You’re working with almost no wiggle room.
"You’ve got things like water under your skin that you’re worried about, making your six-pack into a four-pack, s**t like that."
He added: "It’s just stupid. It’s just not real. I’m happy that it worked, I’m happy that it got me through it."
Zac added that he is not keen to put his body under that pressure again - unless it is for something worthwhile but added that he is not in a hurry for that to happen.
In December last year, Zac was rushed to hospital after suffering from a 'life or death medical emergency'.
The A-lister was said to have been flown to Australia from Papua New Guinea by a medical evacuation crew after battling a 'form of typhoid or similar bacterial infection.'
According to the Sunday Telegraph, Efron was in a 'stable' condition when he was admitted to St Andrews War Memorial Hospital where he was kept in for seven days.
He was said to have been given the 'all clear' by doctors following a medical assessment.
Zac had jetted out to Papua New Guinea to film a new reality TV show: Killing Zac Efron.
The Hollywood reporter claimed the daredevil series would see Zac venture 'deep into the jungle of a remote, dangerous island, falling off the grid for 21 days".
The Quibi adventure series is said to star and be executive produced by Zac, who would forego all luxuries to survive with nothing but basic gear and a guiding partner for the challenge.
Speaking ahead of filming, Zac said: "I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level.
"I am excited to explore uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits!"
