Activision and developers Infinity Ward have confirmed that a new update has been released for
Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Today’s patch looks to be a hotfix and doesn’t appear to offer much in the way of new content. Players are keeping a lookout for any update information this week as rumours are rife that a Battle Royale mode is being planned for the coming weeks.
However, today’s COD patch notes confirm that there has been no secret release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The good news is that plenty of bugs are being looked at and a number have been removed today.
Patch notes for today’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare update can be found below and have been sourced directly from Infinity Ward:
Fix for Regiment tags not appearing as intended
Fix for players receiving the "Jockworth" error while in Gunfight Tournaments
Fix for a bug where numbers on the team roster and numbers on the COD Caster minimap did not correspond
Pointman: Fix for an issue where Killchain scores were being given for killstreak kills without having Killchain equipped
Fix for a CDL Gunsmith exploit
Playlist changes were made yesterday and included the launch of Rust 1v1 and the new Reinforce mode, which can be accessed for a limited time in February.
Confirming the news of Reinforce's launch this week, Activision revealed: "Reinforce blends together elements of various objective modes making it a tactical and strategic game mode with multiple ways to win. At the match start there are three flags around the map. Players rush to capture flags to gain ground and position for their team.
"If you are killed, you will enter spectator mode to cheer on your teammates, but don’t get too comfortable. If your team captures a flag, all teammates in spectator mode will respawn and rejoin the match. Revived teammates will respawn near the flag that was captured. Be especially careful when respawning near the ‘B’ flag as it typically in the centre of the map and hotly contested.
"You can win the round multiple ways:
1. Capture and secure all three flags at once
2. Hold the most flags when the timer ends
3. Eliminate all enemy players
"Each round win nets your team a point, and the first team to four points wins the game. If a draw is reached in a single round, both teams are awarded a point."
Meanwhile, another big Season 2 update for Modern Warfare is expected to go live next month on all platforms. This will reportedly include a new Battle Royale mode and will include Battle Pass tie-ins.
Call of Duty Warzone will be available to play next month and is rumoured to boast 200-player gameplay over a map bigger than the one featured in Black Ops 4's Blackout Mode.
